How Scoring Works 🧬

The goal of the game is to guess Daisy's DNA breakdown as accurately as possible. You will select breeds and assign percentages to them. The total must equal 100%.

The "Max Points" Rule

For each breed, the Actual Percentage in Daisy's DNA is the maximum number of points you can earn for that breed.

If you guess less than the actual amount, you get points equal to your guess.
If you guess more than the actual amount, you only get points equal to the actual amount (you "overflow" and waste points).

Breed Groupings & Scoring

To make the game fair, we group closely related breeds into single Scoring Categories.

For example, if you guess Whippet, it maps to the Greyhound group.

This means if Daisy is a Greyhound, and you guessed Whippet, you get FULL CREDIT!
The game tracks your specific guess (e.g., "Whippet") for fun, but calculates your points based on the main group (e.g., "Greyhound").

Example:

Let's say Daisy is 50% Poodle.

Scenario AYou guess 40% Poodle. You get 40 points.
Scenario BYou guess 60% Poodle. You get 50 points (capped at the actual 50%).

Tip: It's better to slightly under-guess a breed than to over-guess it, because over-guessing wastes percentage points that could have been used for other correct breeds!
